Research
The project began with an in-depth study of both local and international toys designed to support children’s confidence. Benchmarking included constructive toys, sensory sets, and role-play products. Insights from psychology of children aged 3–5 highlighted the importance of guided play and positive feedback from parents. This analysis shaped the design guidelines focused on interaction, skill progression, and emotional reinforcement.
Design
Initial concepts explored multiple formats of sequential play, aiming to gradually challenge children while involving parents as active facilitators. Sketches and storyboards helped define activities that were simple, rewarding, and age-appropriate. The selected design emphasizes progressive tasks—from basic hand–eye coordination to more complex problem-solving—ensuring children experience success at each stage, reinforcing their self-confidence.
Development
3D CAD models were created to test dimensions, ergonomics, and assembly methods. Prototypes were produced using laser-cut wood and child-safe finishes, followed by parent–child testing sessions to observe usability, engagement, and safety. Feedback was integrated to refine form, adjust grip sizes, and ensure a smooth sequential flow of activities.
Result
The final product is a Montessori-inspired toy series that promotes self-confidence in children through guided, hands-on learning with parents. It offers multiple stages of play, fostering independence while strengthening family bonds. The toy’s adaptability, safe materials, and educational value make it a cost-effective, innovative solution for early childhood development.
